Thanks, Lefty!

I sealed up all the holes and as many edges as I could.

I don't think anyone will be lid lifting.

He is! He walked around for a few minutes, then hunkered down behind the sand dollars, and hasn't moved since. I think Two of Three has gone down to molt in the 10 gallon, he's smaller, still don't expect to see him for weeks. Trying to tell myself I don't need to go to PetSmart to get some buddies to fill up some of this space...

Well, the Command hooks holding up the shell shop came off. Guess I need a plan B.

Looks fantastic, thanks for putting all those pictures up, they're really helpful; I'm in the process of setting up a tank. Can I ask the reason why you have raised the substrate off the bottom of the tank?

Very cool, your false bottom tank etc, all looks identical to mine!! sweettttt..

I've got some suction cup hooks i bought from the dollar store, like 2 for a buck, they are amazing! they're the 3rd different setup of suction cup hook things i've gone through/tested and the best by far (in regards to cost, since at any given time i'm using 5-15 of them). 5 of them will hold up my 5'ish pound shell shop up in the air, it'll start to slip or fall after sometimes a week, or sometimes a month or if one of the crabs pries off the suction, but no biggy just pull it all out re attach whatever ones slipped, (takes about 5-15 mins for the shell shop fix, less if its just 1 cup holding up a piece of wood or something) i'll see if i can find some information on them. but they're generic.

i love them though, makes hanging stuff up so easy.
Reppin' AZ!

Sorry for the delay, been quite a year, lol...

The false bottom is protection against floods. These can happen from over wetting the sub, by over spraying, over humidifying, pools spilling or leaking, things like that. Some crabbers swear by false bottoms, others feel they are unnecessary, and I have read somewhere someone questioning the safety of pvc in the tank. Early on I had some difficulty maintaining humidity, and sprayed a lot, and as a result I have siphoned water out of the bottom of the tank. So, I personally am glad it's there.

I once had to clean a flooded 20 long and that was traumatic enough to make me fix a false bottom!

This is great to see, particularly since I've been mentally constructing an upgrade that I hope to make time for next summer. Well done!
