I placed an order with petdiscounters. They have a great selection of hermit crab stuff,an the order got here the very next day, which completely shocked me! They have reasonable prices, although crabbagepatch.com is a little cheaper.

Yup I have ordered from Petdiscounters twice already, ,last weeks order came in last night and it arrived beautifully. Affordable, portable and very handy. This instrument will record the maximum, minimum and current temperatures and humidity levels of your tank so you can wake up in the morning and just click a button to see what they were instead of sitting and waiting. It has extendable probes that will reach anywhere in your tank, and has suction cups to stick to the side or just stay in the sand. I love this peice. Only the probes stay in your tank and the electronic display peice is laying someowhere else staying clean. CHECK IT OUT^. Convenient.

I love this website. I shop from here for my hermit crabs and birds quite frequently, actually My most recent order were two bulbs for my tanks. They came quickly and were packaged nicely.

Thanks for posting that, Bowman! I used to use a digital humidor gauge (can't think of the proper name of it right now) that I bought for $50, since I was tired of buying the humidity gauges that would stop working after only a few months. This one had a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, it somehow fell from its spot and ended up in the salt water pool, which isn't something covered by the warranty. :-/ Rather than plopping down another $50 for a new one, I think i will go with this gauge instead!

I actually just ordered that thermometer/hygrometer. My boyfriend and I are building a huge tank, and I'm slowly collecting things for it. This was a must-have in my opinion. I can't wait to get it!!!

I got mine yesterday... it's correctly calibrated and is working great! I love that I can keep it outside of the tank so it doesn't get ruined.

Oh man! Wish I'd known about this about 3 or 4 months ago as I spent a few hundred dollars I'm sure on pet supplies! But good to know now. . .one can never have enough hermit crab toys

I'm not getting a warm fuzzy from this site. I placed an online order 6 days ago and have not received anything other than the auto-generated confirmation order that was sent when I hit submit. I sent them a, "what's the status of my order?" email today and I'm waiting a response. Tomorrow, I'll give them a call. If it hasn't been sent, I'll cancel and go with a place that's a bit more customer oriented (and faster).The order was $60.00, FYI

The USPS is really slow texasrab, and these businesses don't operate weekends, and the mail doesn't run on Sunday.I waited 2-3 weeks on an order from Naples Seashell Company, and about 2 weeks on an order from Amazon (tank heater), and about a 9 days on an order from Hermit Crab Addiction.I mailed package 2 and a half hours away, priority shipping, and it took 5 days-- if you want an idea on how slow some shipping is. Check out their location.. from Montville, NJ to Austin, TX is a 28 hour drive, but they don't make that route straight-- it's going to go from shipping location to shipping location to shipping location, waiting to be unloaded and then reloaded at every location.

I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet, but something I ordered the next day from Seattle (not animal care related) is already here. It was ordinary shipping (which was free by the way)just like at pet discounters (where I paid over $10.00 for shipping). From Seattle, I got my confirmation the next day and the package arrived yesterday.I don't think pet discounters has even processed or shipped my order. I haven't received a tracking number or anything yet. Maybe it's just a glitch and/or maybe I'm used to faster service and I'm being impatient.Edited to add-- I did hear back from them. This is their exact and entire response: "Hi, yes we received it, your order is shipping tomorrow and we will send tracking information when it ships.Thank you"So the order will be shipped a full 7 days after I ordered it. I hope the merchandise is fabulous because I'm not too happy with the customer service...
