Octopus A Hit or Miss?
We brought a seafood mix and there was tiny octopi in there minus the head all the tentacles. Man im not joking thats there favourite food by far. They litarlly ran straight to the dish and ate untill it was all gone. Any one eles tried Octopus?

Octopus A Hit or Miss?
I did, along with cuttlefish, squid and fish eggs (offered separately) and they've all gone ignored so far. Last night I gave them thawed krill, bloodworms and brine shrimp which was a messy and wet dish and ... found it face down on the substrate a few minutes ago. Lovely. lol I'm hoping they flipped the dish accidently climbing out.I'd like to try fresh offerings of the same. Mine were dried and I soaked them in salt water.

I have a freeze dried octopus that I cut up for them. I do re-hydrate it, should I?I figured the humidity in the tank would take care of that.So far, have not really noticed it being nibbled on.

I've found for me it's hit or miss. Sometimes they are just nuts for it and sometimes they ignore it. I got a frozen seafood mix that had that, mussels, cuttlefish, and something else in it and the LOVE those most of the time.I also recently picked up some smelt fish on clearance at our seafood counter and that has been a big hit.

I too bought one of those frozen sea food mixes the other day. It did have Octopuss, shrimp, crab, and a few other things. I gave a variety and it went pretty much untouched. I figure I'll try again after a while and see if they change their minds.

Soometimes I rehydrate stuff and sometimes I just let the tank humidity do it for me... and the results vary. Whole dried fish(anchovies etc) sometimes disappear overnight, sometimes I find them later hidden by Pepper in the big hut (he also carts freeze dried bananas off). It makes more sense to me to rehydrate, but it doesn't always seem more appealing to them when I do... (just when ya think ya have 'em figured out...
