Advice needed. Moving: 38 gal with crab under and w/8" substrate
Soo I'm moving on the 30th of this month!! Yayyy I'll have a much bigger room and will not be upstairs. So for deep cleans, house stairs will not be a problem when I do crabitat deep cleans. But in the mean time.... Getting the crabitat down the stairs of the house I currently in and will move out of is gonna be the BIG TACKLE To work with !!So moving the crabitat is constantly on my mind this week.. Sigh ... It's gonna be a challenge Some ideas I made-Remove half 50% of the substrate, lowering the level-taking out all decor-emptying the pools.. But I donna how much lighter the crabitat will be afterwards. I don't know where hansel is buried at so I cannot do the " cut around a molter method " What are your MOST EFFECTIVE suggestions ?? Everyone's suggestions will be appreciated Thank youUpdate: all crabs were up and that gave me a good chance to take apart the tank.. All 8 crabs went in the 10 gal for the trip and when I got to the new house. I set the 38 gal back up Everything went fine!! Nothing broke !!! BIG SCORE !!

I think you're on the right track to just take out everything that can be removed. Maybe try to peek underneath to see if you can tell where your buried crab is? You're definitely going to need a second person to help with the actual move though - damp substrate is heavy! Good luck!

Get as much of everything out as possible. When taking the extra sub out, slowly and carefully remove it so as not to harm the buried crabs. Get a board to set under the tank while carrying it so the board will help stabilize/spread out the weight. Get another to help carry it and whatever you do DON'T DROP IT!Have Fun!
