Ultrathem heat tape

Post by moonwatcher » Wed Oct 28, 2015 4:20 pm

I just got my Ultratherm heat tape to put on the back of my tank. What side goes against the glass? The side with the copper on the edge or the flat solid black side.

Do you mean you put the copper side against the tank? I don't know what you mean by pad. I am very new to this.

Does the power cord connecting to the heat tape; is one side flat? If so; stick that side to the tank.

Oh gosh I haven't looked at mine in.... almost a year? But I believe, where the power cord connects to the mat, one side is flatter than the other - like JJ is saying. Flatter side goes against the tank.

Thx..That's what I did. I was just concerned because I thought maybe the copper should be against it. I realized the pad was putting Styrofoam against it. (you tube to the rescue-LOL)
