I did have multiple crabs check it out, though how much they ate (if at all) is hard to say.

Maybe, but I honestly doubt that they would enjoy eating garlic, not because it's bad for them but because raw garlic by itself tastes absolutely disgusting. I may try cooking it for them, though.asiankanye wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 7:33 pmWow, I would really love to know the results! If they like the garlic, that’s great news because I think me and other crabbers have lots of garlic laying around. LOL!

A fair point, but hermit crabs aren't dogs. Even using insects for comparison is iffy because of how different they are. What affects an insect won't necessarily affect a crustacean the same way, and vice versa.
Garlic is highly recommended in marine invertebrates including hermit crabs and you only bring this up now?wodesorel wrote:Hermit crabs don't have red blood cells, that requires iron-based blood. Hermits have hemocyanin, which is copper-based. They can't even get anaemic.
Garlic in marine invertebrates is highly recommended - including in marine hermit crabs. I'm honestly surprised as a community we haven't embraced it, but then we all tend to be terrified of everything.
