Anything that is porous (blanket, cardboard, towel, etc) won't hold in the humidity.
If you have an empty plastic shopping bag, you can cut it and tape it over the top of the tank to hold in humidity.
You will need a thermometer and hygrometer so you know what the temp and humidity are.

Thank you curly! I wasn’t sure what to answer on this one! I have a quick question will I got you here. I’m making lids for my 55 gallon tank. The wood is stained.
