It may just be my screen but s/he looks very red to me. Beautiful crab! How about Ruby or Garnet? Rumen or Pyrrhus?

She is pretty! More purpley than I could see in the first pic. May have to rethink the names. :D

ImageImageImage sorry about the bright flash against the tank..This is my 10 g setup for my 2Purple Pinchers..the net is my cheap 2nd tier which hold a deep moss pit..they can either climb the tree bark(against the left side, behind the bromeliad) or across the apple branch which I have wedged against the hideout..the hideout side is 7"deep with the hidey sumwhat submerged (the hidey is a reptile hideout w a thick tree trunk on bottom,& they love it) there are 2 blue containers for water pools. I use those, outdoor rechargeable led lights for your walkways as evening spylights, they only last about 6 hrs but I can't see from afar w/o having my face depressed against tank. You see who is checking things out & I think we like it..CALLA , see how red she looks in these pictures?

It's awesome to hear that things are getting better. Just remember to put yourself first, and not the pets. :) It doesn't matter what the tank looks like to us humans, so long as the hermits have what they need. Heat, humidity, deep substrate and enriching things to climb on - all of which you've provided.

Your tank is so much like my first one! Mushroom containers for water dishes (the only downside is they tend to crack a lot), branches from outside (which they love and I've never stopped using) - and even down to the netting (although I used my old fishnet tops from my goth days  ). I had trouble with heat the first few months since it was my first time with exotic pets, and had to keep the tank wrapped in an emergency mylar blanket to boost the heat high enough. It was overwhelming at times, but it was a heck of a lot of fun!

awwww Wode thank you for your words of inspiration!! that is greatly appreciated..the children, husband,& hermies always come first cuz thats just the type of caring person i am..I was reading the threads about "Going all out for your hermies"I wanted to cry..But my husband always tells me what a gr8 job im doing, always searching our yard for ideas to make the hermies happy..Think hes getting a lil involved more , cuz when he was chopping some maple for our outdoor firepit, he bought me up a halflog saying "I think the crabs will like for the new tank or the emergency tote you have..let me know if i have to cut it dwn any" I thought that was awesome!!
anywho, sorry for rambling & thank you for the reassurance!!
